Flights
The trade off of choosing a time of year we hoped would have good weather and easy availability is that flight pricing is a little tricky (global politics are not helping!). We know many of you have got NY deals, for those still stalking flights, some tips:
May - August
Flights are expected to come down in this period, so set up reminders for your dates and pounce when you see them!
Flying via Hubs
Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa is a good choice. Often layovers are relatively short, it’s one of the biggest flight hubs in Africa and the airline is reliable. Kenya Airways via Nairobi and Turkish airlines via Istanbul are also great options. Doha and Dubai are also great options, we’re quite relaxed travellers, and Paul flew via their recently so we would still consider them a good option.
Sneak in via Joburg
Cape Town is more popular than Joburg so check flights there first and you can grab a quick domestic "low-cost" carrier like FlySafair, Lift, or Airlink to Cape Town as cheap as £40–£60 if booked between April - July.
Cheaper Airlines
Norse Airways is currently showing as expensive, but we expect the prices to drop as it’s typically the low cost carrier. Some people have had mixed experiences using it but we’ve had positive ones - remember to bring your own pillow, blanket, headphones and pack snacks as all the usual “extras” are not free.

Car Rental
You can book these from Cape Town Airport, plenty of the normal brands right outside the main terminal. It’s safe to drive yourself as it’s all on major roads.
If you want a car for a little longer, if you’re coming before or after, we recommend these brands for affordable longer term (few weeks / month) rentals.
Uber / Pre-Booked Taxis
You can pick up Ubers in town or at the Airport that should take you our to Cherry glamping. However, we’d advise one of these pre-booking firms given it’s a longer journey:
